Everything Released Today at Amazon’s Hardware Event

NEW AMAZON PRODUCTS

Amazon hosted its highly anticipated Devices and Services event on September 30, 2025, in New York City, unveiling a comprehensive lineup of new hardware powered by Alexa+, the company’s AI-enhanced voice assistant. From next-generation Echo speakers to the first color Kindle Scribe, Amazon demonstrated its commitment to bringing artificial intelligence to every corner of the home.

Echo Devices: Four New Smart Speakers and Displays

Amazon introduced four new Echo devices, all built specifically for Alexa+ and powered by custom silicon chips.

Echo Dot Max ($99.99)
The Echo Dot Max replaces the standard Echo as Amazon’s go-to smart speaker for every room. It features nearly three times the bass of the previous Echo Dot, with a two-way speaker system including a woofer for deep bass and a custom tweeter for high notes. The device runs on Amazon’s new AZ3 chip with an AI Accelerator for edge computing.

Echo Studio ($219.99)
The redesigned Echo Studio is 40% smaller than its predecessor while maintaining premium audio quality. It includes three full-range drivers and an excursion woofer for maximum bass, with support for Dolby Atmos and spatial audio. The AZ3 Pro chip powers advanced language models and vision transformers. Up to five Echo Studio or Echo Dot Max devices can be connected for surround sound through the new Alexa Home Theater feature.

Echo Show 8 ($179.99)
The fourth-generation Echo Show 8 features an 8.7-inch HD display with a sleek tablet-like design and curved mesh fabric housing. It includes improved stereo speakers, a 13-megapixel camera for video calls, and the AZ3 Pro chip for enhanced Alexa+ capabilities.

Echo Show 11 ($219.99)
The Echo Show 11 offers an 11-inch display with the same premium features as the Show 8, including the 13-megapixel camera and advanced Omnisense sensor platform that enables contextual awareness and personalized experiences.

All new Echo devices are available for pre-order today, with the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio shipping October 29, and the Echo Show models arriving November 12. U.S. customers receive Alexa+ Early Access with purchase.

Omnisense: The Future of Ambient AI

Amazon’s new Omnisense platform leverages multiple sensors—including the 13-megapixel camera, audio, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, accelerometer, and Wi-Fi CSI—to enable ambient AI experiences. This technology allows Echo Show devices to recognize users, deliver personalized insights like sleep analysis, and alert you if the garage door is open before bedtime.

Kindle Scribe: Three Models, Including First Color Version

Amazon completely reimagined its Kindle Scribe lineup with three new models launching later this year.

Kindle Scribe without Front Light ($429.99)
An entry-level 11-inch e-reader with no LED front light, launching early 2026.

Kindle Scribe ($499.99 for 32GB)
The standard model features an ultra-thin 5.4mm design weighing just 400 grams, making it thinner than an iPad Air. It includes a quad-core processor that’s 40% faster for writing and page turns, with writing latency under 12 milliseconds. The device features texture-molded glass for a paper-like writing feel and supports importing documents from Google Drive and OneDrive.

Kindle Scribe Colorsoft ($629.99 for 32GB)
Amazon’s first color writing tablet uses custom Colorsoft display technology with a color filter and nitride LEDs. A new rendering engine ensures fast, fluid color writing with 10 pen colors and five highlighter colors. The device comes in an exclusive “Fig” finish—a deep red-berry tone.

All three Kindle Scribe models feature AI-powered notebook search, allowing users to search across notes and receive AI summaries. Starting in early 2026, users will be able to send notes to Alexa+ for conversations about their content. New AI reading features include “Story So Far” for book recaps and “Ask This Book” for spoiler-free character and plot questions.

Ring Security: First-Ever 4K Cameras

Ring introduced its most advanced camera lineup featuring new Retinal Vision technology that optimizes every step of the imaging process with AI tuning.

2K Models:

  • Ring Wired Doorbell Plus 2K ($179.99)
  • Ring Indoor Cam Plus 2K ($59.99)

4K Models:

  • Ring Wired Doorbell Pro 4K ($249.99)
  • Ring Outdoor Cam Pro 4K ($199.99)
  • Ring Spotlight Cam Pro 4K ($249.99)
  • Ring Floodlight Cam Pro 4K ($279.99)

All Ring cameras feature Retinal Vision with back-side illumination sensors, custom large aperture lenses, and 10x zoom for exceptional clarity even in low light. The technology samples video quality over two weeks and automatically adjusts image processing for optimal results.

Alexa+ Greetings allows Ring doorbells to ask visitors why they’re there and respond accordingly, acting as a virtual doorman.

Search Party is a groundbreaking AI-powered community feature that helps reunite lost dogs with their families. When a neighbor reports a lost dog in the Ring app, nearby outdoor Ring cameras automatically search for possible matches and notify camera owners if they spot what might be the missing dog.

Blink Security: Enhanced 2K Cameras

Amazon’s budget-focused Blink brand received three new cameras with 2K resolution.

Blink Mini 2K+ ($49.99)
An indoor plug-in camera with person and vehicle detection, two-way audio with noise cancellation, and 4x zoom.

Blink Outdoor 2K+ ($89.99)
Features year-long battery life, weather resistance, two-way audio with noise cancellation, and person and vehicle detection (requires Blink subscription).

Blink Arc ($99.99)
A dual-camera system that stitches two high-resolution video feeds into a seamless 180-degree panoramic view, eliminating blind spots. The mount can use existing Blink Mini cameras or the new Blink Mini 2K+.

Fire TV: New Operating System and Hardware

Amazon introduced a refreshed Fire TV lineup with a new operating system called Vega OS—a Linux-based platform replacing the Android-based Fire OS.

Fire TV Stick 4K Select ($39.99)
Described as “the fastest streaming stick under $40,” this new device features the Vega OS operating system and includes Alexa+ integration for enhanced voice control and content discovery.

Fire TV Omni QLED Series (starting at $479.99)
Available in 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch models, these TVs offer 60% better brightness than previous versions, nearly double the local dimming zones, and a processor that’s 40% faster. The Omnisense feature automatically adjusts display colors based on ambient lighting, turns the TV on when it detects your presence, and switches it off when you leave the room. The TVs can also display photos or artwork.

Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series
Budget-friendly 4K options that are 30% faster than predecessors, with Omnisense features for automatic presence detection and display adjustment.

Support for Alexa+, Luna cloud gaming, and Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to all new Fire TV devices. Pre-orders are open with shipments starting next month.

Amazon Basics Smart Remote ($19.99)

Though not mentioned during the main event, Amazon quietly revealed a new Smart Dimmer Switch and Remote. This wall-mountable device features four customizable buttons that can be programmed via the Alexa app or Alexa+ to control smart home devices or trigger multi-stage routines. It ships October 30.

Alexa+: The Thread Connecting Everything

Every product announced today integrates with Alexa+, Amazon’s next-generation AI assistant launched earlier this year. The service costs $19.99 per month but is free for Prime members ($139/year). Amazon reports that over one million users currently have early access, and they’re talking to Alexa over twice as much as before, having deeper conversations and relying on the assistant to complete more tasks.

The Alexa+ Store will soon allow users to explore services from partners including Fandango, GrubHub, Lyft, Priceline, TaskRabbit, Thumbtack, and Yahoo Sports.
