Honda and Acura EVs Gain Access to Tesla Supercharger Network
Honda and Acura Powered By Tesla
Good news for Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX owners! Both electric vehicle models now have the ability to charge at Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network across the United States. This expanded access is made possible through a new Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter.
Previously, owners of these vehicles were limited to CCS-compatible charging stations. However, with the introduction of this adapter, Honda and Acura are significantly broadening the charging options for their EV customers, tapping into Tesla’s vast network of over 23,500 Superchargers.
The Honda-approved NACS-CCS adapter is available for purchase at authorized Honda and Acura dealerships, as well as through the Honda DreamShop website. The adapter retails for $225. While the Tesla app is currently required to initiate and pay for charging sessions at Supercharger stations, Honda is working on future integrations with their HondaLink and Acura EV apps to enable plug-and-charge capabilities.
This move aims to alleviate range anxiety and enhance the overall convenience for Honda and Acura EV drivers, providing them with more reliable and readily available fast-charging solutions on the go.
